Today the life of the 250 Bell Canada clerical employees who will lose their jobs just got a whole lot worse. This adds to the significant number of Canadian jobs that Bell Canada has already sent to India.

TORONTO -- It took BCE Inc. four marketing agencies and two years of planning to come up with a new logo that may be the simplest among major North American businesses.

Gone are the widely polarizing beavers Frank and Gordon. In their place is the single word "Bell," clad in a plain blue font and a new slogan company executives hope to underscore the changing dynamic within Canada's soon-to-be-privatized largest telecommunication company: "Today is a new day."

MONTREAL - BCE Inc. is set to make deep cuts to its management ranks as it prepares to be taken private by a group led by Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan.
