Home Dispatch Policy

OBJECTIVES: The goal of this bulletin is to ensure a consistent understanding of the Home Dispatch procedures throughout the company, by all parties.

A) Use of a vehicle: The company may loan a vehicle to an employee for the purpose of fulfilling the Home Dispatch procedures. Use of the vehicle is limited to the employee's active work periods. The employee shall not use the vehicle outside of their working hours with the exception of travelling from their residence to their first job and from their last job to their residence.

B) Working Hours: It is the intent that the application of the Home Dispatch policy will create a " Win-Win " situation for both the employees and the company.

For this reason, the company agreed to give employees the privilege of bringing home a company vehicle however, it is incumbent upon the employee to ensure proper management of their own working hours since they are the only one in a position to be able to do this. In order for everyone to benefit from this procedure, the following terms must be respected:

* Employees must be at the site of their first activity on time for the beginning of their shift. Most first activities will involve a visit to a customer. In other cases, first activities may involve travel to one of the company's offices, to pick up material, for example. In all cases, it is the employee's responsibility to leave their residence early enough to arrive at the site of their first activity on time.

* Travelling guidelines apply to employees who are dispatched within the geographic area, which is serviced by their << Home >> work center. If they are dispatched outside of this area travelling and first job guidelines will be modified as required.

* The same logic applies, minus FEP in time, at the end of the employee's shift, but in reverse. It is the employee's responsibility to finalize last job of tour, complete a time sheet and close out their tour from the last job.

* The employee is responsible for making sure the vehicle is parked securely when it is at their residence.

In summary, travel to and from the employee's place of residence, must be completed outside of working hours.

* An allowance will be made for FEP in time up to a maximum of 15 minutes.

We have set these rules down, in writing, in order to communicate them to all employees and they should be displayed on work centre bulletin boards.

circumstances warrant. Bell Technical Solutions reserves the right to make modifications to this policy based on changes in its business reality.
